Classification: Tubeufiales, Pleosporomycetidae, Dothideomycetes, Pezizomycotina, Ascomycota, Fungi
Tubeufiales was introduced by Boonmee et al. (2014) to accommodate the type family Tubeufiaceae, based on molecular phylogenetic studies (Lu et al. 2018). Tubeufiaceae was established in Pleosporales by Barr (1979) based on the generic type Tubeufia. Later, Tubeufiaceae was accommodated in a new order Tubeufiales by Boonmee et al. (2014) based on morphology combined with LSU, SSU, and TEF1 sequence analysis. Currently, Tubeufiales accommodates three families, namely Bezerromycetaceae, Tubeufiaceae, and Wiesneriomycetaceae. The most prominent characteristic of Tubeufiales is the asexual morph of Tubeufiaceae, which has three main types: helicosporous, chlamydosporous, and phragmosporous (Lu et al. 2018).
Type family: Tubeufiaceae M.E. Barr
Other accepted species: Species Fungorum – search Tubeufiales
