Matheny et al. (2015), introduced Romagnesiella as a new genus to accommodate Galerina clavus. The type species of Romagnesiella (R. clavus) is often confused with other naucorioid species frequently in the same environment, such as Galerina graminea, Psilocybe pratensis, or Tubaria spp. (Matheny et al. 2015). This genus can be found in several habitats, including calcareous, mineral-rich, sandy, and alluvial substrates in pioneer or disturbed habitats in Europe and North Africa (Matheny et al. 2015).
Type species: Romagnesiella clavus (Romagn.) Contu, Matheny, P.-A. Moreau, Vizzini & A. de Haan.
Other accepted species: Species Fungorum – search Romagnesiella
