Classification: Fungi Incertae sedis, Amerosporae.

The monotypic fossil genus Nailisporites was described by Huang (1981) in the Talu Shale (Miocene, 23–5 mya) of Taiwan. The genus includes subprolate fungal spores with nail shape at one end. Size 16 × 13 µm. Furrows 3, long, extending into appendages. Nail 5 × 2 µm. Spore wall 0.4 µm thick. Huang (1981), described spore wall of these spores, using the terms like exine, tectum, and sexine which are generally used in angiosperm pollen morphology.

Type species: Nailisporites taiwanensis T.C. Huang 1981.
