Classification: Roccellaceae, Arthoniales, Arthoniomycetidae, Arthoniomycetes, Pezizomycotina, Ascomycota, Fungi.
Diromma was introduced by Ertz et al. (2014) in Roccellaceae (Arthoniales, Arthoniomycetes) with the type species D. dirinellum, which is strikingly similar to Ocellomma picconianum (Ertz et al. 2014), but differs by the corticated thallus and the immersed to semi-immersed ascomata (Ertz et al. 2014). In phylogeny, Diromma formed an independent lineage within the Roccellaceae where it is related to the genera Dirina and Roccella. The sexual morph is characterized by circular ascomata, oblong to irregular in substrate, surface white pruinose, with a thin and corticated thalline margin level with the hymenial disc; hymenial disc usually widely exposed, but sometimes slit-like, white pruinose, hyaline to pale brown hypothecium, I+ blue, K/I+ violet, and branched paraphysoids, up to 3 μm wide, hyaline and 3-septate ascospores, slightly curved (Ertz et al. 2014). There no further species have been introduced to this genus which remains monotypic.
Type species: Diromma dirinellum (Nyl.) Ertz & Tehler
Other accepted species: This genus is monotypic.
