Classification: Teloschistaceae, Teloschistales, Lecanoromycetidae, Lecanoromycetes, Pezizomycotina, Ascomycota, Fungi.

Based on the morphology and combined phylogeny of ITS, LSU, and SSU, Kondratyuk et al. (2014) introduced Eilifdahlia to accommodate the type species Eilifdahlia dahlii (basionym: Caloplaca dahlii), and  Eilifdahlia wirthii. Then, Kondratyuk et al. (2017) described a new species, Eilifdahlia schwarzii and a new combination Eilifdahlia sergeyana (basionym: Caloplaca sergeyana), and provided a key to the species of Eilifdahlia. Schumm and Aptroot (2019) renamed E. schwarzii as Caloplaca schwarzii. Three species are currently included in this genus. Eilifdahlia is mainly characterized by a continuous or areolate thallus, paraplectenchymatous cortical layer, biatorine apothecia, true exciple pseudo-prosoplectenchymatous or scleroplectenchymatous, and narrowly bacilliform conidia (Kondratyuk et al. 2014). The species of Eilifdahlia grows on the bark of various trees and lichens in Australia, France, Namibia, and South Africa (Kondratyuk et al. 20142017). Eilifdahlia is similar to Franwilsia, but is distinguished by having a hymenium infiltrated with oil droplets and different chemicals (Kondratyuk et al. 2017). Eilifdahlia can be distinguished from other genera based on its morphology and phylogeny.

Type species: Eilifdahlia dahlii (Elix, S.Y. Kondr. & Kärnefelt) S.Y. Kondr., Kärnefelt, Elix, A. Thell, J. Kim, A.S. Kondr. & J.S. Hur

Other accepted species: Species Fungorum – search Eilifdahlia
