Notes: Wiesneriomycetaceae was introduced by Suetrong et al. (2014) to accommodate Wiesneriomyces as the type genus. According to the recent classification of Wijayawardene et al. (2020) and Hongsanan et al. (2020), six genera are accepted in Wiesneriomycetaceae, namely Parawiesneriomyces, Phalangispora, Pseudogliophragma, Setosynnema, Speiropsis and Wiesneriomyces. The sexual state of Wiesneriomycetaceae is still unknown. Asexual state has setose, sporodochial conidiomata, septate, macronematous conidiophores, holoblastic, clavate to cylindrical conidiogenous cells and hyaline, but greenish, yellowish, or whitish in mass, non-septate, conidia, formed in uniseriate, acropetal chains and connected by narrow isthmi (Suetrong et al. 2014). We follow the latest treatment and updated accounts of Wiesneriomycetaceae in Hongsanan et al. (2020).
Type genus: Wiesneriomyces Koord., Verh. K. Akad. Wet., tweede sect. 13(4): 246 (1907).
Other accepted species: Species Fungorum – search Wiesneriomycetaceae.
