Classification: Incertae sedis, Incertae sedis, Incertae sedis, Incertae sedis, Pezizomycotina, Ascomycota, Fungi.

Notes: Troposporopsis was established by Whitton et al. (1999), with T. atroapicis as the type species based on morphology. Currently, Troposporopsis comprises two species: namely T. atroapicis and T. rigidospora (Whitton et al. 1999; Index Fungorum 2024). Troposporopsis is characterized by macronematous, mononematous, erect, percurrent proliferation, unbranched, solitary conidiophores, integrated conidiogenous cells, and smooth, 1–11/2 helicoid conidia comprising multiple transverse septa and areas of dark and light pigmentation (Castañeda Ruiz and Kendrick 1990; Whitton et al. 1999;). Troposporella is similar to Troposporopsis. However, Troposporella has frequently branched conidiophores and punctiform conidiomata (Ellis 1971, 1976).

Type species: Troposporopsis atroapicis Whitton, McKenzie & K.D. Hyde, Fungal Diversity 3: 176 (1999).

Other accepted species: Species Fungorum – search Troposporopsis.
