Index Fungorum, Faceoffungi, MycoBank, GenBank, Fig 1.
Classification: Incertae sedis, Incertae sedis, Incertae sedis, Incertae sedis, Pezizomycotina, Ascomycota, Fungi.
Notes: This genus was erected by Penzig and Saccardo (1902) and currently contains five morphological species. It was treated as Ascomycota incertae sedis probably due to a lack molecular data. In the present study, new sequence data shows it belongs to Dictyosporiaceae in Pleosporales.
Type species: Trichobotrys effusa (Berk. & Br.) Petch = T. pannosa Penz. & Sacc.
Other accepted species: Species Fungorum – search Trichobotrys.
