Saprobic on decaying wood, or pathogenic on human, or found from the gut of red palm weevils. Sexual morph Undetermined. Asexual morph Hyphomycetous. Conidiophores lacking. Conidiogenous cells holoblastic, monoblastic, integrated, flask-shaped, fusiform, cylindrical or clavate, arising from undifferentiated hyphae, hyaline to pale brown, smooth-walled. Conidia acrogenous, solitary, develop one to five forms in distinct species (adapted from Luo et al. 2019). 

Notes: Triadelphia is placed in Microascales as genus incertae sedis (Wijayawardene et al. 2017a2018aLu et al. 2018). Luo et al. (2019) showed that the Triadelphia phylogenetically shares a sister relationship to the Graphiaceae clade with good bootstrap support (98% ML), but Triadelphia taxa are obviously distinct from the species of Graphiaceae in conidial and conidiophore characters. They introduced a new family, Triadelphiaceae, to accommodate Triadelphia based on morphology and phylogeny.
