Tremateia was introduced by Kohlmeyer et al. (1995) with T. halophila as the type species. Members of Tremateia are characterized by depressed globose, immersed ascomata, numerous and cellular pseudoparaphyses, fissitunicate and clavate asci, ellipsoid muriform ascospores, and a phoma-like asexual morph (Hongsanan et al. 2020a). With recent updates (Hyde et al. 2016; 2020b; Feng et al. 2019; Mapook et al. 2020a), nine species are now accepted in this genus.
Type species: Tremateia chromolaenae Mapook & K.D. Hyde.
Other accepted species: Species Fungorum – search Tremateia.
