Classification: Ascomycota genera incertae sedis, Fungi.

Stipititheca was introduced by Diederich et al. (2024) to accommodate the type species Stipititheca pyrenulae which grows on Pyrenula. The genus is characterized by its erect, blackish, mononematous, unbranched conidiophores, which are typically straight or slightly curved and have a broad foot cell arising from a blackish basal stroma. The conidiogenous cells are monoblastic, terminal, and integrated into the conidiophores, with indistinct annellations. Conidia initially appear unicellular with a thick, subhyaline sheath that gradually darkens, while the interior develops into brown, ellipsoidal cells that are eventually released collectively. Due to the lack of molecular data, this genus is tentatively placed within Ascomycota genera incertae sedis (Hyde et al. 2024).

Type species: Stipititheca pyrenulae Diederich & Ertz, on Pyrenula (Diederich et al. 2024).

Other accepted species: Species Fungorum – search Stipititheca.
