Corda (1842) introduced Sporocadaceae with Sporocadus as the type genus, and this was re-validated by Jaklitsch et al. (2016). It includes genera that are typically appendaged-bearing coelomycetes with saprobic, endophytic, or foliar pathogenic lifestyles (Nag Raj 1993, Tanaka et al. 2011, Hyde et al. 2020). Wijayawardene et al. (2020) included 33 genera in Sporocadaceae. 

Type genus: Sporocadus Corda, Icon. fung. (Prague) 3: 23 (1839).

Other accepted species: Species Fungorum – search Sporocadaceae.
