Corda (1842) introduced Sporocadaceae with Sporocadus as the type genus, and this was re-validated by Jaklitsch et al. (2016). It includes genera that are typically appendaged-bearing coelomycetes with saprobic, endophytic, or foliar pathogenic lifestyles (Nag Raj 1993Tanaka et al. 2011Hyde et al. 2020). Wijayawardene et al. (2020) included 33 genera in Sporocadaceae.

Type genus: Sporocadus Corda, Icon. fung. (Prague) 3: 23 (1839).

Other accepted species: Species Fungorum – search Sporocadaceae.
