Notes – The asexual morphs are hyphomycetous and saprobic. Species of Scopulariopsis have been recovered from environmental samples (soil, air, mouldy indoor environments), food (cheese and butter), as well as from human clinical samples. The sexual morph is undetermined. Scopulariopsis species are found in terrestrial habitats with worldwide distribution. The genus was accepted in Microascaceae by Kirk et al. (2013), Sandoval-Denis et al. (2016a), Maharachchikumbura et al. (20152016b) and Wijayawardene et al. (2017a2018a).

 

Type species: Scopulariopsis brevicaulis (Sacc.) Bainier.

Other accepted species: Species Fungorum – search Scopulariopsis.
