Notes: Retihelicosporonites was established by Ramanujam and Rao (1978), with R. elsikii as the type species based on its morphological characteristics. Retihelicosporonites differs from other fossil helicosporous genera due to its reticulate conidia that consist of cuneate basal cell, and helicoid terminal cell, with the remaining cells being rectangular in shape (Ramanujam and Rao 1978; Saxena et al. 2021). Retihelicosporonites comprises a single species, R. elsikii, which was found in India.

Type species: Retihelicosporonites elsikii Ramanujam & K.P. Rao, Proceedings of the IV International Palynology Conference, Lucknow 1976-1977: 299 + pl. 3, figs 37-38 (1979).

Other accepted species: Species Fungorum – search Retihelicosporonites.
