Notes – Plagiascoma and Pseudoascotaiwania are monotypic sexual genera in Fuscosporellaceae. The sexual morph of Plagiascoma frondosum resembles Pseudoascotaiwania persoonii in having cylindrical asci with a J-, apical ring and uniseriate (in fresh material), euseptate, fusiform ascospores. Ascospores of Plagiascoma frondosum are hyaline and 3–5-septate, while those of Pseudoascotaiwania persoonii are 5-septate, rarely 6-septate and have light brown central cells and hyaline end cells (Fallah et al. 1999, Réblová et al. 2016c).
Type species: Plagiascoma frondosum Réblová & J. Fourn., in Réblová, Seifert, Fournier & Štěpánek, Persoonia 37: 69 (2015) [2016].
Other accepted species: Species Fungorum – search Plagiascoma.
