The genus Phytophthora was established by de Bary (1876) and currently includes about 200 formally described species (Abad et al. 2022). The genus has been divided into ten monophyletic major clades (Fig. 163; Senanayake IC et al. 2023). The morphological characteristics and species composition of these monophyletic groups were reviewed by Yang et al. (2017b). In this study, we introduce a new Phytophthora species.
Type species: Phytophthora infestans (Mont.) de Bary.
