Classification: Hydnaceae, Cantharellales, Agaricomycetes, Agaricomycotina, Basidiomycota, Fungi.

Parmeliicida was introduced by Diederich, et al. (2022d) to describe the basidiomycete P. pandemica, which occurs on Parmelia saxatilis and P. sulcata. This genus is characterized by dark reddish-brown, superficial lichenicolous bulbils measuring 150–270 × 120–200 μm. The bulbils lack of specialized external cells and are composed of round to ellipsoid internal cells, 8–17 μm in diameter. Phylogenetic analysis based on LSU sequence conducted by Diederich et al. (2022d) indicated that Parmeliicida belong to Hydnaceae.

Type species: Parmeliicida pandemica Diederich, F. Berger, Etayo & Lawrey (Diederich et al. 2022d).

Other accepted species: Species Fungorum – search Parmeliicida.
