Pararamichloridiales was established by Crous et al. (2017) to accommodate Pararamichloridium and Woswasia. Zhang et al. (2017) introduced a new family, Woswasiaceae in Diaporthomycetidae, families incertae sedis to accommodate Cyanoannulus, Woswasia and Xylochrysis and this placement has been accepted by Luo et al. (2019), Hyde et al. (2020a) and Wijayawardene et al. (2020). Later studies accepted Pararamichloridiales with a monotypic family, Pararamichloridiaceae (Luo et al. 2019; Hyde et al. 2020a; Wijayawardene et al. 2020). In our study, Pararamichloridiaceae clustered with Woswasiaceae in a stable clade, with a stem age of 137 MYA. Therefore, we include Woswasiaceae in Pararamichloridiales as proposed by Crous et al. (2017).
