Classification: Opegraphaceae, Arthoniales, Arthoniomycetes, Pezizomycotina, Ascomycota, Fungi

Paralecanographa was introduced by Ertz et al. (2011), based on phylogenetic analysis, to accommodate the species Paralecanographa grumulosa, transferred from Opegrapha grumulosa Dufour. It initially grows on Roccella, then develops its own thallus, eventually becoming a lichenicolous lichen (Dufour 1818). This species is characterized by black, roundish to angular apothecia, with a flat disc that is usually white or bluish-white pruinose, cylindrical-clavate asci and ellipsoidal to fusiform ascospores with 3-5 septa. Phylogenetic analysis using LSU and mtSSU conducted by Ertz et al. (2011) indicated that Paralecanographa clusters within Opegraphaceae, and Frisch et al. (2014a) confirmed this result in their later study.

Type species: Paralecanographa grumulosa (Dufour) Ertz & Tehler, on Roccella (Ertz et al. 2011)

= Opegrapha grumulosa Dufour

Other accepted species: Species Fungorum – search Paralecanographa
