Index Fungorum, Facesoffungi, MycoBank, GenBank, Fig 1
Classification: Muyocopronaceae, Muyocopronales, Dothideomycetidae, Dothideomycetes, Pezizomycotina, Ascomycota, Fungi
Notes: Muyocopron was introduced by Spegazzini (1881) to accommodate
M. corrientinum as the type species. Muyocopron species have small, superficial, black spots, without mycelium, dimidiate-scutate, sub-carbonaceous, central ostiolate ascomata, bitunicate,
8-spored asci, and ellipsoidal, hyaline ascospores (Spegazzini 1881; Mapook et al. 2016). This genus occurs worldwide and is associated with a wide variety of plant substrates (Mapook et al. 2016; Tibpromma et al. 2016b; Senwanna et al. 2019). There are 48 Muyocopron species listed in Species Fungorum (2021).
Type species: Muyocopron corrientinum Speg., Anal. Soc. cient. argent. 12(3): 113 (1881).
Other accepted species: Species Fungorum – search Muyocopron.
