Classification: Ascomycota genera incertae sedis, Fungi.

Lichenohendersonia was introduced by Calatayud et al. (2001a) to describe three lichenicolous species: L. squamarinae, L. uniseptata, and L. varians. The genus is characterized by pycnidial, unilocular, globose or subglobose, ostiolate conidiomata with pale to medium brown walls that may darken around the ostiole. The conidiogenous cells are holoblastic, ampulliform, and arise from the inner conidiomatal wall. Conidia are solitary, brown, ellipsoidal to oblong, and 1–3-septate. A second species, L. physciicola, was introduced by Berger et al. (2021), found on Physcia tenella. To date, four species are recognized. Due to a lack of molecular data, the phylogenetic status of this genus remains uncertain and is tentatively placed within Ascomycota genera incertae sedis (Hyde et al. 2024).

Type species: Lichenohendersonia squamarinae Calat. & Etayo.

Other accepted species: Species Fungorum – search Lichenohendersonia.
