Classification: Rutstroemiaceae, Helotiales, Leotiomycetidae, Leotiomycetes, Pezizomycotina, Ascomycota, Fungi.

Notes: Lambertella was established by Höhnel (1918), with L. corni-maris as the type species. Index Fungorum (2024) lists 83 species epithets, with L. tubulosa being the only helicosporous hyphomycete taxon within Lambertella (Abdullah and Webster 1981). This species was initially introduced as Helicodendron tubulosum (Linder 1929; Glen-Bott 1955) and subsequently synonymized as Lambertella tubulosa based on their similar morphological descriptions, except for the production of phialides and phialoconidia in L. tubulosa (3589) (Glen-Bott 1955; Abdullah and Webster 1981). Lambertella tubulosa was founded in dead leaves, dead twigs, and soil in both freshwater and terrestrial habitats (Glen-Bott 1955; Abdullah and Webster 1981). The asexual morph of Lambertella tubulosa has phialides, septate conidiophores, and hyaline, sparsely branched, multi-septate, coiled conidia (Glen-Bott 1955; Abdullah and Webster 1981). It is important to note that Helicodendron triglitziense, Lambertella tubulosa, and Mollisia gigantea all exhibit phialides shapes of (Glen-Bott 1951, 1955), but they belong to three different families (Fisher and Webster 1983; Lu and Kang 2020).

Type species: Lambertella corni-maris Höhn., Sitzungsberichte der Kaiserlichen Akademie der Wissenschaften Math.-naturw. Klasse Abt. I 127: 375 [47 repr.] (1918).

Other accepted species: Species Fungorum – search Lambertella.
