Notes: The phylogenetic position of this family was recently examined by Pfister et al. (2013). However, according to our phylogeny we refer this genus to a new family within Pezizomycetes. Taxa are mainly saprobic associated with vegetation of Eucalyptus sp., Pistacia sp. and Pinus sp. Known distribution is Italy and Spain (Pfister et al. 2013). In this paper, we illustrate Kallistoskypha incarnata as representative of the new family.
Type genus: Kallistoskypha Pfister, Agnello, Lantieri & LoBuglio, Mycol. Progr. 12(4): 670 (2012) [2013]
