Zhang et al. (2024a) introduced Javarisimilis (J.), to accommodate its type species, J. palmarum, which was found on decaying rachides of Nypa fruticans submerged in mangrove mud in Thailand. Currently, only one species is listed in Index Fungorum (2024). To date, no species of this genus have been reported from peat swamp forests. In this study, we introduce J. narathiwatensis as the second species in this genus, found on submerged rachides of Eleiodoxa conferta from the peat swamp forest in Narathiwat, Thailand.

Type species: Javarisimilis palmarum S.N. Zhang, K.D. Hyde & Jian K. Liu, in Zhang, Hyde, Gareth Jones, Yu, Cheewangkoon & Liu, Fungal Diversity 127: 115 (2024).

Other accepted species: Species Fungorum – search Javarisimilis.
