Classification: Incertae sedis, Incertae sedis, Incertae sedis, Incertae sedis, Pezizomycotina, Ascomycota, Fungi.

Notes: Hyalohelicomina was introduced by Yokoyama (1974), with H. deutziae (former known as Helicomina deutziae) as the type species. Hyalohelicomina comprises a single species, H. deutziae, found on leaves of Deutzia crenata in Japan (Yokoyama 1959). Hyalohelicomina deutziae was initially identified as Helicomina deutziae by Yokoyama (1959) and Yokoyama (1974). Hyalohelicomina is characterized by solitary, erect, branched, septate, hyaline and loosely clustered conidiophores that are slightly constricted at the septa, with frequently inflated conidiogenous cells, and simple to straight, or curved to coiled, septate, hyaline, conidia that are rounded at the apex (Yokoyama 1959). Hyalohelicomina deutziae shares similarities with Helicomina caperoniae in having branched, loosely clustered conidiophores, and simple, straight, helicoid conidia (Olive 1948; Yokoyama 1974). However, Hyalohelicomina deutziae has hyaline conidiophores and conidia, while Helicomina caperoniae is pigmented (Olive 1948; Yokoyama 1974).

Type species: Hyalohelicomina deutziae (T. Yokoy.) T. Yokoy., Transactions of the Mycological Society of Japan 15: 159 (1974).

Other accepted species: Species Fungorum – search Hyalohelicomina.
