Classification: Ascomycota genera incertae sedis, Fungi.
Henfellra was introduced by Hawksworth et al. (2016) for the species H. muriformis, found on the apothecia of Candelariella antennaria. This genus is characterized by black, erumpent, pycnidial conidiomata with an ostiole. The conidiogenous cells are enteroblastic, cylindrical, hyaline, and phialidic. Conidia are hyaline, thin-walled, ellipsoid, rounded at both ends, muriform, and enclosed in a gelatinous sheath (Hawksworth et al. 2016). With H. muriformis as the only species and no molecular data available, its phylogenetic position remains uncertain, and it is tentatively placed within Ascomycota genera incertae sedis (Hyde et al. 2024).
Type species: Henfellra muriformis Halici, D. Hawksw., Z. Kocak. & M. Kocak. (Hawksworth et al. 2016).
Other accepted species: Species Fungorum – search Henfellra.
