Heliocybe belongs to the Gloeophyllaceae Julich, the genus was established by Redhead & Ginns (1985), and H. sulcata is the type species (He et al. 2019). The Heliocybe species are brown rot fungi (Saitta et al. 2011, Rune 1994). There are two species in the genus which are H. sulcata and H. villosa. Heliocybe sulcata differs from H. villosa by having more robust basidiomata and yellowish-brown scales instead of brownish-orange (Gilbertson et al 1976, Garcia-Sandoval et al. 2011 and Zhang et al. 2018). In this present study, we introduce a new geographical record from Laos
Type species: Heliocybe sulcata (Berk.) Redhead & Ginns, Trans. Mycol. Soc. Japan 26(3): 359 (1985).
Other accepted species: Species Fungorum – search Heliocybe.

f = 20 μm.
