Endophytic in roots of Halophila ovalis. Sexual morph: Undetermined. Asexual morph: Hyphae septate, hyaline, olivaceous or brown, abundant loop structures. Chlamydospores in chains, cells ellipsoidal, brown or olivaceous. Conidia pleurogenous, solitary, single-celled or with 1–3 (4) septa, coiled, constricted at the septa, dark olivaceous or brown; conidial cells globose to subglobose, generally increasing in size from base to apex.

Notes – Halophilomyces was described as an endophyte of roots of Halophila ovalis. The original generic diagnosis of Halophilomyces was poorly defined and thus, it was emended in this monograph to include the key morphological characteristics of the genus.
