Classification: Ascomycota genera incertae sedis, Fungi.

Gyalectiphila, introduced by Diederich et al. (2024), accommodates three combinations, and is distinguished from Hawksworthiana and Refractohilum by its subcylindrical, septate conidiophores with numerous annellations along their length, septate conidia, and the absence of gall induction on the host thallus. It is characterized by effuse and hyaline colonies, arising from the surface of the host. The mycelium is immersed, consisting of branched, septate, hyaline, smooth-walled hyphae. Conidiophores are macronematous, mononematous, erect, unbranched, subcylindrical, hyaline, smooth- and thick-walled, and septate, originating directly from immersed hyphae. Conidiogenous cells are monoblastic, terminal, percurrently proliferating, with distinct annellations along the conidiophore, either appressed or flared. Conidia are solitary, dry, cymbiform, smooth-walled, hyaline, transversely septate, multiguttulate, with an obtuse apex and a truncate base featuring a slightly thickened hilum (Diederich et al. 2024).

Due to the lack of molecular data, this genus is tentatively placed Ascomycota genera incertae sedis (Hyde et al. 2024).

Type species: Gyalectiphila achromatica (B. Sutton) Cl. Roux & Diederich.

=Sporidesmium achromaticum B. Sutton.

Other accepted species: Species Fungorum – search Gyalectiphila.
