This genus is phytopathogenic and is characterised by brown hyphae, with dark brown chlamydospore-like hyphal swellings, brown conodiophores arising from the mycelium, proliferating sympodially, cells terminal and intercalary conidiogenous cells, with conspicuous, darkened, refractive conidiogenous loci. Conidia are ellipsoidal, tapering to subtruncate, straight or slightly curved, branched chains and brown. Phylogenetic analyses placed this genus in Phaeothecoidiellaceae (Videira et al. 2017, this study).
