Classification: Dissoconiaceae, Mycosphaerellales, Dothideomycetidae, Dothideomycetes, Pezizomycotina, Ascomycota, Fungi
Notes – Dissoconium was introduced by de Hoog et al. (1983) based on D. aciculare. Crous et al. (2004) indicated that the type of Dissoconium, D. aciculare, clustered together with Mycosphaerella communis (now as Uwebraunia communis) and M. lateralis isolates. However, the Type species D. aciculare formed a distinct clade in Capnodiales and was not close to Mycosphaerellaceae (Crous et al. 2009c, Hyde et al. 2013). We provide a drawing of Dissoconium aciculare in Fig. 1 as we were unable to find a fresh collection.
Type genus: Dissoconium aciculare de Hoog, Oorschot & Hijwegen.
Other accepted species: Species Fungorum – search Dissoconium.
