Notes – Arambarri & Cabello (1990) established Dictyochaetopsis based on D. apicalis to accommodate species producing lateral phialides. Species of the genus are characterised by macronematous, setiform conidiophores with fertile or sterile apices; discrete (rarely integrated), monophialidic or rarely polyphialidic conidiogenous cells occurring on the conidiophore or on lateral branches and, fusoid to cylindrical, 0-multiseptate, hyaline conidia (Arambarri & Cabello 1990, Whitton et al. 2000). Whitton et al. (2000) synonymized Codinaeopsis under Dictyochaetopsis. Seifert et al. (2011) did not accept Codinaeopsis and Dictyochaetopsis as valid genera.
Type species: Dictyochaetopsis apicalis (Berk. & M.A. Curtis) Aramb. & Cabello, Mycotaxon 38: 12 (1990).
Other accepted species: Species Fungorum – search Dictyochaetopsis.
