Réblová et al. (2017) established Sclerococcaceae to accommodate Dactylospora, Rhopalophora, Sclerococcum, and Fusichalara minuta. Phylogenetic analyses based on LSU, SSU, rpb2, rpb1, and mtSSU were applied to introduce this family. Cylindroconidiis, Fusichalara, Gamsomyces, Rhopalophora, and Sclerococcum genera are listed in this family (Hyde et al. 2024a).

Type genus: Dactylospora Körb. 1855.
