Classification: Mycenaceae, Agaricales, Agaricomycetidae, Agaricomycetes, Agaricomycotina, Basidiomycota, Fungi
Notes: Cruentomycena is established by Petersen et al. (2008). The genus is characterized by mycenoid or marasminoid basidiomata, viscid blood red pileus, deccurent lamellae, presence of cheilocystidia and elongated basidiospores (Petersen et al. 2008). Cruentomycena currently comprises three species namely, C. kedrovayae, C. orientalis and C. viscidocruenta (Petersen et al. 2008; Terashima et al. 2016; Species Fungorum 2021). In this study, a new species Cruentomycena uttarakhandina is introduced based on evidence of morphology and phylogenetic placement.
Type species: Cruentomycena viscidocruenta (Cleland) R.H. Petersen & Kovalenko, Mycotaxon 105: 123 (2008).
Other accepted species: Species Fungorum – search Cruentomycena.
