Chloroepilichen was introduced by Etayo et al. (2010a) to accommodate the types species Chloroepilichen rolfii, which grows on the thallus of Lobaria peltigera from Peru. The fungus is characterized by apothecioid, sessile, superficial, and aggregated ascomata that are green and measure 300–500 µm in diameter. The excipulum is paraplectenchymatous, green at the margin and hyaline internally, with an intensely green epihymenium. The paraphyses are branched and anastomosing, 2–2.5 µm wide. The hymenium is I– and KI–. The asci are clavate, I–, KI–, 8-spored, and measure 80–95 × 9–11 µm. The ascospores are hyaline, uniseptate, and measure 16.5–20 × 4.5–5 µm (Etayo 2010b).

Cecidioskyttea is a monotypic genus with no sequence data available in GenBank.

Type species: Chloroepilichen rolfii Etayo, on Lobaria peltigera (Etayo 2010b).

Other accepted species: Species Fungorum – search Chloroepilichen.
