Classification: Ascomycota genera incertae sedis, Fungi.

= Caeruleoconidia Zhurb. & Diederich.

Caeruleoconidia was first introduced by Zhurbenko et al. (2015d) to accommodate the type species C. ochrolechiae, which grows on the thallus and apothecia of Ochrolechia pseudopallescens. However, its nomenclature was not formally validated until Zhurbenko et al. (2017b) reintroduced the genus.

This genus is characterized by pycnidioid or sporodochioid, pulvinate conidiomata, often accompanied by a lateral, ring-like rudimentary wall. The conidiomata are blackish and stromatic in structure. Conidiophores are hyaline to bluish-green, composed of vertically elongated cells, and densely aggregated. The conidia are holoblastic, bluish-green, subglobose, smooth-walled, and 0–1-septate (Zhurbenko et al. 2015d).

To date, three species are recognized in this genus. Due to the lack of molecular data, the phylogenetic placement of Caeruleoconidia remains unresolved.

Type species: Caeruleoconidia ochrolechiae Zhurb. & Diederich.

Other accepted species: Species Fungorum – search Caeruleoconidia.
